Asitha

Asitha who is known as "Akila" by his friends was brought by their mother to Kalapuwa Sri Leadership Academy for children in need, recently along with his brother Ashen. Asitha's father abandoned the family few years ago and Asitha's mother who earns less than US $2 as a housemaid could no longer take of her children. Asitha likes his new life at Kalapuwa Sri with his brother Ashen and the other boys of his age. At the age of twelve he shows distinct qualities of a leader and he is keen in his studies and extracurricular activities. His favorite subject is Sinhala, one of the official languages of Sri Lanka.
